KEMBLA trainer Bede Murray believes Fernhill Handicap winner Darci Be Good has the attributes to join a roll call of outstanding feature race graduates including the likes of Gunsynd, Veloso, Danewin and March Hare.
The opening race on Doncaster day proved a triumph for Murray who supplied the first and third placegetters.

Darci Be Good ($7) debuted with an even 3.5-lengths seventh behind Smart Missile in the Breeders’ Plate before resuming with 1 3/4-lengths second at Kembla last start over the 1000m.

The son of five-time Group 1 champion Darci Brahma relished the step up to the mile, holding on to score a one-and-three-quarter length win over Testa Rossa sons Cocky Raider ($4.20), who covered ground, with Continental Flyer ($13) away in third.

“It was a bit of ask today but I felt it was the right way to go with him,’’ Murray said of the winner.

“He will be going straight for a spell now – I think he could be a Derby colt, I really do. He is a lovely horse with a great temperament and he’ll make a real good racehorse.’’

Delbridge Racing 2-y-old Pakari Toa, also by Darci Brahma, is showing good promise indicating that the former champion racehorse wil make it as a sire.
