The lightly raced 4-y-old Bernzigova scored a great win on Monday 14th October 2013 at Wangaratta over 2010 metres. At only his tenth start the promising staying type was strong to the line to record an impressive win.

Bernzigova was always in the firing line after jumping well and taking up a forward position in the run. When the pace quickened before the turn he found plenty under pressure to win going away by 2 lengths.

There were plenty of happy owners who snapped up the good odds on offer.

Trainer Gary Sherer reported that he feels Bernzigova will get a lot further than the 2010 metres of the race. “He is handling the work and racing well and there may still be a few more runs in him this time. If he pulls up well in the next few days we will look for a suitable race over 2400 metres for his next run”

Prominent owner Ian Smith was ecstatic with the win: “I thought it was a great win. I have always had confidence in the horse and he proved today he can finish a race off.”

Bernzigova is by the Group 1 winning racehorse and sire, Bernardini, whose progeny seem to improve with age and race experience.

Delbridge Racing, who syndicated Bernzigova, has shares available in a 2-y-old filly by Denman also trained by Gary Sherer. For more information visit http://www.delbridgeracing.com.au/ or phone Mark on 0419561715.
