It was a big day at Murwillumbah today, 25 February 2014, for a new group of Delbridge Racing owners with the impressive win of 2-y-old filly, Downtown Manhattan (pictured in November 2013).
The powerful filly by Manhattan Rain from the French race mare, Tazkara, was not suited by the tight track but still managed to find the line hard to record a courageous win over 1200 metres.
A half-sister to the recent multiple city winner, ROWIE, the big 2-y-old will only improve with age, experience and maturity and looks set for bigger things as a 3-y-old and as the distance of her races increase.
Trained on the Gold Coast by Trevor Bailey she is a BOB’s filly so she earned a nice bonus for her owners. She is also eligible for the rich Magic Millions race series.
For a filly who will improve with age and maturity it was a great effort to win as a 2-y-old at only her second start.
