Just turned 3-y-old filly Ohio Girl (see photo in the mounting yard) ran a great race at her debut at Ballarat during August 2020.

The Reward for Effort filly finished a close-up 4th after a 3-wide run over the 1000 metre sprint. She was slightly slowly away at the start but quickened to be just behind the leaders and eventual winner in the run. From then on, she maintained her position during the run and showed enough to suggest she has the ability to win races. A better start would have meant she would have been right in the finish. She will learn a lot with experience.

Trainer Charlotte Littlefield will now give her a short break and prepare her for the 3-y-old filly sprints over the summer months.
