What a great way to start the festive season with a win by the consistent, gutsy and talented grey Translation. It what is best described as his best run for us, Translation produced a last 600 metres of 33.75 seconds to win easily in the end by 2.5 lengths yesterday at Sandown. It was a tribute to the training expertise of Russell Cameron to get this horse to perform so well after battling with a career threatening split hoof over the last 5 weeks. In the first 3 weeks of that period, since his last run at Ballarat, all he could do with him was swimming so it was a great training feat. Russell commented after the race that he might have to increase the amount of swimming if he keeps running like that!!!
