Scoring his second win from three starts at Sha Tin during the last meeting of the Hong Kong racing season was promising four year-old Be-Fabulous.
The Lonhro gelding flew home to win the 1200 metre Class Three sprint for astute trainer Ricky Yiu, his win following on from a dominant victory at the same venue last month.
Be-Fabulous provided Yiu with a career milestone in becoming the 500th winner he has trained.
"I'm happy, this has been one of my best seasons, in terms of the number of winners, and I guess these things are always a little bit exciting. Of course, I knew it was coming up and if it didn't happen today, I would have got it next season," Yiu told South China Morning Post.
"The horse himself, I like him. Today from the better draw, he got cover and was more relaxed than when he had to push forward from the outside last time when he won. I think he'll make it into a genuine Class Two horse next season and I'll gradually step him up from 1,200m – I think he will get a mile eventually."
Sold in New Zealand as a yearling for $100,000, Be-Fabulous (pictured) was bred by Yarraman Park in partnership with Tim Hughes and is a half-brother to stakes-placed Happy Hussy and Prix du Sang.
The progeny of Lonhro just keep on winning and Delbridge Racing is syndicating a Lonhro Costa Complete rising 2-y-old who is in work under the "expert eye" of Jason Warren at Mornington, Victoria.
