One of Delbridge Racing’s finest is leaving his teaching position in Taiwan to re-locate to Singapore in the next few weeks.
Mark Lewis was one of the original owners who helped set Delbridge Racing on the road to glory some 8 years ago. He was an integral part of the first horse we ever purchased and then a proud owner of such wonderful gallopers such as two time Magic Millions winner Drizzle, the classy Georgia’s Boy and now the group 3 winner Shamoline Warrior.
For the past ten years Mark and his wife Alison and daughters Charlotte and Mattie have been living in Taiwan with both Mark and Alison teaching at the Taiwan International School. With their girls now heading to University in Melbourne Mark and Alison thought it time to move on and will transfer to Singapore.
Although with many regrets given the friends he will leave behind in Taiwan, this is particularly pleasing for Mark whose passion is for racing horses and being in the thick of the action. Whereas Taiwan does not have a racetrack Singapore certainly does, with racing there improving and growing all the time.
Mark has been a great supporter of Delbridge Racing as an owner and also by establishing a number of syndicates and owners in Asia. This is something he will continue to pursue in Singapore as Regional Manager Delbridge Racing Asia with our target to race horses in Singapore within the next two years. More on that subject once Mark arrives in Singapore.
Mark also leaves behind many children he has taught well over the last 10 years and his current class gave him the send off he deserves when they recognised his efforts and thanked him for introducing them to the world of Delbridge Racing as can be seen in the photo above.
We wish Mark and Alison all the best in Singapore and look forward to continuing our long and successful association as Delbridge Racing grows into Asia.
